New Zealand

Go west towards the island of New Zealand part of the austral-asia continent.. It is situated right in the Pacific Oceans and about 1200 miles southeast of Australia and is pretty much a isolated island all by itself with only australia and fiji north. It is split into to mainlands, the northern and southern islands. New Zealand has a population of 4,393,500 people with a land area of 268,o21 km2. GDP per capita there is $28,722, more than most islands. The currency used in new zealand is the NZD (New Zealand dollar) and the main language is english with more than 90% of the people speaking it and then another 4% speak the native maori. In 1642 the first europeans set foot on the land (Dutch man a couple counterparts, his crew) but due to hostility between the europeans and native tribes resulted in four members being killed and europeans not visiting the islands for almost 100 years!!! A neat place to visit on these islands is the Mt. Cook or Aoraki National Park, it is a beautiful place to see and this is why... The Mount Cook National Park is located in New Zealand on the south island and over 40 percent of the park is covered with glaciers. The land area for the park is 700 km2 and although its fairly young they are continually growing, at a rate of 5 to 10mm per year. There are about 400 different types of plants or vegetation that make up the park and is more than 40 species of birds also living within the national park. You can also do recreational activities such as hunting and skiing (etc.). Now its time to leave this wonderful place and head into the continent of Asia to a very obscure place right under China and above India, NEPAL!!!

Brazil

Is here in South America!!! Always wanted to go to Brazil or any south American country in fact so I had to stop here. Brazil is the largest country in the America's and located to the east in south America and north of its cousin the U.S. The Atlantic is on the east of Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay to the south of it, Bolivia, Peru, etc. up and down the west coast and Colombia northwestward. Its population is a staggering 132,272,890 in 2009 alone and is the 5th largest country in the world. It has a land mass of 8,514,877 km2 and a GDP per capita of little over $10,000. The real is there currency and the main language is Portuguese because the country of portugal took claim of the land in the 1500's. The mighty Amazon rainforest and river flow within the country of Brazil, which is the biggest freshwater river in the world! Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are the two main big cities in this country and if you decide to go to Rio, like I did, there is just one thing you must look up and see and is only in Brazil, this would be the famous Christ the Redeemer statue. The statue is of Jesus Christ in Rio, Brazil and is a symbol of Rio de Janeiro and of all of Brazil. It is the second largest art statue in the world, sitting at an amazing 161 feet high (including pedestal) and almost 100 feet wide. It was built out of soapstone and reinforced concrete. It stands atop the peak of the Corcovado mountain that stretches up into the sky in the Tijuca Forest. The statue began its start in about the 1850's, as just a proposal to the princess which was then dismissed. Once Brazil became a republic and church and state would be separate, the proposal was made by a priest in 1921 to build a monument/statue and was accepted. In 1922 they began actually building the statue and finally finished in 1931. It took a amazing nine years to be built and costed a mere 250,000 dollars (more than 3 million USD in 2011). But, in 208 the statue was struck by lightning and was damaged on the eyebrows, the hand and head. It was then restored by the Rio government. Now lets leave the continent of South America and go to the west......

Denver, Colorado

Well I'm finally starting my travels and what better place to start then my hometown and where I've always lived, which is the beautiful place of Denver, Colorado. Colorado is a great place, situated just about in the middle of the west coast in the United States of America. It is bordered by 4-5 states, Utah to the west, Wyoming north, Nebraska on the northeastern side, Kansas east and New mexico bordering it on the southern side. The Colorado river flows right through the heart of Colorado which carved the Grand Canyon as well as the Rocky mountains that run from New Mexico into Canada. Population of Colorado is 5,029,196 with the land area being 104,094 square miles (8th in the U.S.). The currency of choice of coarse is the USD (U.S. Dollar) and the main language english. Denver is a great place and is also a mile high above sea level. A place thats always good to see and very much apart of the city and state is Invesco Field at Mile High. Invesco Field is a stadium built in 2001 for the Denver Broncos national football league. Although the stadium is for the Broncos, it is sometimes used for college and high school football games. Before the new stadium was built their was the old one which was just named Mile High (which the fans still wanted it to be called even after the name was changed). Now enough of Denver, lets start traveling and my next is going to be........

In Ethiopia, the largest city is Addis Abeba and is the capital also. It has a population of 3,384,569 people and is like a state yet a city, with the African Union there and the OAU. The city was founded in 1886 by the emperor Menelik II for his empress Taytu Betul. The skeleton that was founded in Ethiopia, Lucy a very early hominid, is there in the Ethiopian National Museum. They also have a replica for the public to see in a glass case. She lived more than 3 million years ago and found in the Awash Valley of Ethiopia's Afar Depression in 1974. While in Addis, there is stop to make a market called the Addia Merkato, taken from the Italian word for market, is in the Ketema district and is huge. It's the largest of its kind in all of Africa with many square miles of the neighborhood. Australia

Australia seemed like a interesting place to go, so why not. Its located southeast of Asia, just south of the Papua New Guinea island and is surrounded by the Indian ocean on the west, and the pacific to the east. The countries population is 22 million people, which most live in or nearby major cities like Sydney and Melbourne. It has a land area of 7,617,930 square km and the GDP per capita is $37,000. Although Australia has no main language, English is spoken most often. One of the most interesting things i thought was in Australia is the famous Sydney Opera House in Sydney, South Wales. It was built in 1973 by a man by the name of Jørn Utzon and cost a staggering $102 million dollars all together. It is so interesting because of how it was designed and how the roofs are shaped into a sort of shell. There is a main concert hall and 6 other places for performances (Opera & Drama theatre, the Playhouse and the Studio, etc.) with the main hall seating over 2,000 people and next largest facility, Opera theatre, holding some 1,500 seats. One other place to visit in Australia would be the St. Paul Cathedral in Melbourne.
